June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, a time where people around the globe raise awareness about the brain, Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Everyone who has a brain is at risk to develop Alzheimer’s, but everyone can help end Alzheimer’s — especially you. Here are 7 ways you can get involved:
1. Take the Purple Pledge
It’s as simple as wearing purple and telling people why. Visit alz.org/pledge to take the Purple Pledge, get your purple gear, and ask your friends and family to Go Purple on June 21.
2. Do what you love to #ENDALZ on The Longest Day June 21
3. Know the Facts
Knowledge is power, so get informed. Alzheimer’s disease affects us all and the more we know the more we can do to change it. Learn the facts at alz.org/facts.
4. Spread the word
Raising awareness and spreading the message is simple: share what you know and why you care about ending Alzheimer’s by posting on Facebook, Twitter and all your social media platforms. Use #ENDALZ and tag @ALZ_WA to encourage others to get involved.
5. Become an Advocate
Register as an Advocate at alz.org/advocate and we’ll send you alerts that make it easy to take action, impact national policy and contact elected officials to spread awareness.6. Volunteer
Moving the fight against Alzheimer’s depends on volunteers. Join the Alzheimer’s Association team and contribute to events, advocacy and programs. Learn more about opportunities to join our team.
7. Make a Donation
Every donation, big or small, makes an impact in the fight against Alzheimer’s. So spread the love and support a Longest Day team in your area.
