“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world.  Indeed, it is the only thing that has.” ~ Margaret Mead

At Aging Wisdom, we have a long history of supporting  the Washington State Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.  From our perspective at Aging Wisdom our work, in many respects, is complementary. Coincidently, our offices are in the same building.  Several on our staff are current and former Chapter-trained support group facilitators. Others are volunteer partners, serving on the Discovery Conference planning committee, King County Advisory Council, the Washington State Dementia Action Collaborative and supporting advocacy efforts. And most of us have a personal connection to this work with loved ones that are living with or whom we’ve lost to Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.

We are a small and dedicated staff, but this is the power of the collective, that “small group of thoughtful, committed people“ working together. We believe in the work and the effectiveness of the Alzheimer’s Association and it’s through our volunteer work at the Chapter that we get to see their mission in action and be a part of it:

“To eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to

provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk

of dementia through the promotion of brain health.”

And this is why sponsoring the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, as well as forming a Walk to End Alzheimer’s team, comes easily for us at Aging Wisdom.  We support the work of the Chapter and the broader Association. It is a joy to be part of something that brings hope and help to individuals and families who are on the journey that so many of our clients are on as well.

Many of our clients benefit from the Alzheimer’s Association 24/7 Helpline, programs, support groups, research and advocacy.  Because of that, our support of the Association through the Walk to End Alzheimer’s helps us to put our mission – To transform lives by finding creative solutions to difficult problems – into action beyond our work as consultants and care managers helping families navigate a loved one’s aging.

Together, we are that “small group of thoughtful, committed people” changing the world of Alzheimer’s.  We encourage other businesses to join us!  Become a Walk to End Alzheimer’s sponsor. Form a company Walk to End Alzheimer’s team. Let’s raise awareness and funds in support of Alzheimer’s programs, services, advocacy and research.

Be part of our “small group of thoughtful, committed people” and together with the Alzheimer’s Association, let’s “change the world” of Alzheimer’s!facebookcover_walk2016_START A TEAM
